Pesticide makers challenge water priority list

Firms ask European court to annul inclusion of key commercial substances under framework directive

Three pesticides firms have launched an unprecedented legal bid to overturn an EU agreement on the list of chemical substances set to receive priority regulatory action under the water framework directive.

The pesticides are facing a possible phase-out within 20 years under the directive.
