Separate collection of packaging waste not only has environmental benefits but also saves the Austrian economy euros 269m per year, according to a study published today by the country's environment agency (UBA). The UBA report puts about two-thirds of the savings down to environmental benefits, calculated in cost terms where possible, such as avoided carbon dioxide emissions.
