Firms warn European Commission over standardised CSR, mandatory reports urged in UK

A trio of industry groups has urged the European Commission not to advocate the use of a standardised European corporate social responsibility (CSR) model. In an open letter to Commission president Romano Prodi, Unice, the European round table of industrialists (ERT) and CSR Europe claim that such an approach "would run the risk of damaging the spirit of CSR" and "could prove harmful to the competitiveness of European companies".
