Ranks of corporate green reporters swelling

UK tops European reporting league; France shows fivefold increase; but other states record falls

Corporate sustainability reporting is "becoming mainstream business" and is no longer restricted to sectors with high environmental impacts, according to the latest triannual survey from accountancy firm KPMG.

Published earlier this summer, the survey looks at reporting among the top 100 companies in 19 countries in addition to the 250 leading firms in the Global Fortune 500 that KPMG reviewed in 1999 (EED 06/09/99).
