Cardiff process for transport "under threat"

Watered-down draft council resolution "puts brake" on integrating environment into transport

Severe cracks are appearing in the process of integrating environmental concerns into transport issues, kick-started in 1998 as part of the wider "Cardiff process", ENDS Europe DAILY has learned (EED 17/06/98).

The first signs of a slowdown appeared earlier this month, when a draft council resolution reviewing the process was presented to an EU expert group chaired jointly by the directorates general for transport and environment. ENDS Europe DAILY has obtained a copy of the document.
