Eighth conference of parties to UN convention gets stuck into fine points of implementation

Global climate change talks resumed today when governmental representatives from around the world convened in New Delhi for the eighth conference of parties to the United Nations framework convention on climate change - COP8.

Following the definitive agreement on implementation rules for the Kyoto protocol at COP7 in Marrakech last year, after earlier dramatic negotiations in Bonn and The Hague, the agenda for this year's gathering returns to relatively humdrum issues.
