Electronics industry muses on post-WEEE future

First global conference after new directive text settled assesses likely long-term impact of law

Manufacturers and recyclers of electronic products and components gathered in Vienna this week for the fourth annual world environment and electronics conference, organised by the Austrian society for systems engineering and automation (Sat) through the Care international programme. The meeting was the first since final adoption of the EU's waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and substances restrictions (RoHS) directives (EED 24/10/02).
