EU to de-prioritise waste oil regeneration?

Regeneration industry fuming as Commission signals possible end to legal priority for recycling

Longstanding EU rules requiring member states to prioritise regneration of waste oils over incineration or other recovery methods could soon be scrapped or watered down, it has emerged. Europe's oil regeneration sector is gearing up to fight any such change.

The waste oils directive is up for revision and the European Commission is due to launch an official consultation soon. It has already sent a preliminary questionnaire to member states.
