Amendments made to Icelandic recycling fund

Changes agreed in the Icelandic parliament to the national recycling fund mean that paper, cardboard and plastic packaging are now subject to its provisions. The amendment will bring Iceland into line with the revised EU packaging directive. The new law also covers synthetic fishing gear made of polyamide and polyethylene, though its provisions will apply only if companies fail to implement an agreement on reuse and recycling of fishing gear.
