EU showcases its renewable energy research

Stakeholders discuss funding priorities for the seventh research framework programme, 2007-13

European efforts to speed the development of renewable energy technologies are being analysed at a two-day conference in Brussels that started on Monday. Stakeholders are debating the future direction of EU research funding in the sector. The EU will invest €440m of research money into renewables between 2002 and 2006, and should spend more under the seventh framework programme for research (7FP) in the period 2007-13, the European commission said on Monday.
