Germany details its demands for Reach deal

Paper to council of ministers ahead of extraordinary meeting proposes changes to registration phase

Germany’s new government has circulated detailed proposals for the changes it wants to see made to the draft Reach regulation before it is prepared to back the law. Most amendments (see link below) target Reach’s registration stage, a part of the package on which member states had previously reached a general consensus.

The text of the new German proposals was tabled last Friday following a preliminary presentation by environment minister Sigmar Gabriel earlier in the week (EED 29/11/05).
