Experts in bid to advance global SCP agenda

Seven international taskforces launched to explore options for sustainable consumption and production

World governments have been urged to work harder to develop a ten-year framework of programmes for sustainable consumption and production (SCP) in line with a commitment made at the Johannesburg world summit in 2002 (EED 04/09/02).

The call was made by hundreds of experts who gathered last week in Wuppertal, Germany, for the official launch of seven SCP taskforces made up of government officials and independent experts, which are meant to deliver recommendations in specific fields.
