World's climate talking shop enters final stages

High-level segment opens at Nairobi conference amid welter of side-events addressing global climate challenges

International climate change talks convened by the UN in Nairobi entered their closing, high-level stage on Wednesday. Among early outcomes from the event are an agreement on a five-year programme of adaptation measures and an accompanying global fund. There are also accords on technology transfer and improving access for some countries to the Kyoto protocol's flexible mechanisms. We will report fully on these once the conference concludes on Friday.
