Negotiators reach agree compromise Reach package after settling differences over substitution of most dangerous chemicals

Negotiators for EU governments and the European parliament reached agreement on all outstanding points of difference over the Reach chemical policy reform late on Thursday night. The council of ministers and full parliament are expected to approve the deal later this month, paving the way for entry-into-force around April next year.

"After years of an extremely difficult political process and intensive negotiations we are now close to adoption of the most ambitious legislation on chemicals in this world," rapporteur MEP Guido Sacconi said on Friday.
