Fluorocarbon makers issue EU legislation guide

EFCTC says interactive 'online observatory' will "promote clarity" on f-gas regulation

European fluorocarbon producers' association EFCTC has published an interactive website aimed at helping users of their products understand and comply with the EU's fluorinated gases (f-gas) regulation. The f-gas regulation online observatory (Figaroo) will be an "national and international resource" for professional end-users and owners of equipment containing f-gases. Users will be able to post relevant information to the site. Content will focus on air conditioning and refrigeration. The regulation was prompted by Kyoto protocol restrictions on HFCs, PFCs and SF6 and entered force in the summer (EED 05/07/07). See EFCTC press release and Figaroo website.
