Austria has launched a nationwide campaign to drive consumers to swap old, inefficient electronic products for state-of-the-art new ones to cut energy use and reduce CO2 emissions.
"Just by using energy-efficient electronic goods, the energy consumption in Austrian households could be cut by up to 25 per cent," environment minister Josef Pröll said on Monday. The environment ministry has launched the initiative with the electronics industry and energy suppliers.
