EU refreshes biocidal substance testing rules

New regulation streamlines evaluation of biocidal ingredient testing; commission planning wider legislative revision

The EU has updated testing rules for a ten-year programme to evaluate the environmental impacts of biocidal products. A new regulation "streamlines" the existing rules and adds some minor provisions, European commission officials say. A deeper revision of EU biocides legislation will begin next year.
