The EU should introduce minimum targets and standards for recovering ozone-depleting substances at their end-of-life phase, according to a consultancy report for the European commission*. The report will be used to guide a revision of a 2000 regulation on ozone-depleters (ODSs).
The advice comes from consultancies Milieu and Ecosphere as part of a planned review of the ODS regulation (EED 20/06/00). They also give a preliminary impact assessment of their proposed changes to the rules.
