No surprises in UN climate talks summary

Countries repeat long-held views in UN compilation of proposals and ideas since climate talks in Bali last December

The UN's climate change convention secretariat has issued a compilation of proposals made by countries and stakeholders on the potential shape of a future global climate treaty since the Bali climate talks last December (EED 17/12/07).

Published on Thursday, the document is intended to underpin the development of a first negotiating text for a new UN climate accord, which officials hope will be put on the table at this year's climate talks in Poznań, Poland, in December (EED 17/11/08).
