Industry "on track to fulfilling Reach obligations"

Commissioner Dimas tells ENDS conference stakeholder cooperation on data-gathering is key to implementation

The larger than expected number of chemical pre-registration dossiers received by the European chemicals agency shows that industry is on track to fulfilling their obligations under the Reach regulation, EU environment commissioner Stavros Dimas told an ENDS conference on Tuesday.

The conference was held in London just six days ahead of the regulation's pre-registration deadline.  Industry representatives raised frustrations about what was described by some as a very complex and hectic process (EED 24/11/08).
