The European commission’s chief climate strategist shares with Sonja van Renssen his experience of and vision for the global climate talks

The man before me looks tired. Artur Runge-Metzger is head of EU and international climate strategy at the European commission. That means he has a lot on his plate right now.

Not only is the commission working closely with MEPs and governments to reach agreement on a new EU climate policy by Christmas, it is also engaged in international talks to seal a new global climate policy by next December.
