Environmental laws on eco-design, road cabotage, petrol vapour emissions, pesticide market approvals and pesticide use have cleared a final legislative hurdle following their adoption by the Council of Ministers on Thursday, paving the way for their entry into force.
The revised eco-design directive extends the scope of an existing eco-design law from energy-using products to energy-related products. Windows, insulation materials and shower heads are some of the new products that will have to meet green design requirements to circulate freely in the EU market in future.
