G77: rich nations are trying to kill Kyoto protocol

Rich nations are attempting to impose the idea of equal responsibility for tackling climate change on developed and developing countries in a bid to avoid new binding commitments to cut emissions, the G77 group of developing countries and China said on Monday

"It has become self-evident… that the intention of developed countries is to kill the Kyoto protocol," Lumumba Di-Aping, chair of the G77 plus China negotiating group, told journalists in Bangkok at the start of the second week of a fortnight of UN climate talks.
