The EU will miss its targets on climate change and air quality unless it fully integrates its policies in these two areas, an expert task force will say at a Swedish EU presidency workshop in Gothenburg next week.
"For a number of reasons… the two challenges have not yet been addressed in an integrated manner," according to an informal draft discussion paper prepared for the workshop. It will "hardly [be] feasible" for the EU to meet its targets unless it takes action.
