WWF: five years to begin low carbon revolution

The transition towards a low carbon economy must begin by 2014 at the latest to avoid dangerous climate change, according to a WWF report issued on Monday. Beyond this point it will be impossible to deliver the emission cuts recommended by scientists.

Low carbon industries must get off the ground immediately and grow by 24-29% annually until deployment scale to have a good chance of keeping temperature rises below two degrees Celsius. Only three out of 20 eco-industries are growing fast enough at the moment, WWF says.
