A group of 50 representatives of European electricity companies and power distribution system operators has pledged to develop harmonised charging standards for plug-in electric cars until international standards are published.
The companies want to make sure hardware and software used across the EU for charging and re-charging cars are compatible. Trade association Eurelectric has set up a task force to identify the market hurdles slowing down the development of harmonised standards.
