At least half of industry groups preparing work to submit joint registration dossiers for identical substances under the EU's REACH chemicals legislation have not adopted guidelines on how they should operate, a UK survey has suggested.
The survey published by UK service provider REACHReady last week, shows the groups, known as SIEFs, are by-passing crucial steps – such as checking whether substances in a SIEF are identical – over fears of missing registration deadlines.
