Italian court blocks environment bodies’ overhaul

Downsized versions of three Italian bodies in charge of environment-related assessments and monitoring were not created legally and must be annulled, an administrative court has ruled.

The regional administrative court for the Lazio region, which includes Rome, decided on 30 October that the Italian environment ministry acted illegally when it cut down the bodies' member numbers. It ordered the ministry to rectify its actions by 13 December.
