Carbon intensity of electricity firms drops sharply

A report published by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in France has shown the carbon intensity of European electricity companies has dropped to its lowest level since the consultancy began monitoring their environmental performance in 2001.

PwC's latest analysis, published on Tuesday, focuses on Europe's 20 largest power companies. The firms' carbon intensity, called carbon factor, dropped by 7% to 350kg of CO2 per MWh* in 2008, according to the consultancy.
