Eco-standards for medical equipment get EU nod

The European Commission has said it can accept a proposed industry commitment on ecodesign standards for medical imaging equipment, provided the sector refines its proposal to meet "certain conditions" identified in a stakeholder meeting on Tuesday.

The conditions include providing data to prove that the 6% energy savings target initially proposed by industry for ultrasound scanners goes beyond business-as-usual improvements, ENDS understands.
