A risk assessment for copper backed by the EU earlier this year has been published by the European Copper Institute (ECI). The assessment will be used as a basis for preparing the industry's full registration dossier for the metal under REACH.
A risk assessment for lead was also approved by the EU earlier this year. This means registration dossiers for the two metals are very likely to be approved by the European Chemicals Agency, the body dealing with substance registrations under REACH.
