Call for wider energy project data gathering rules

An EU legislative proposal to improve data collection on planned energy infrastructure projects should cover a broader range of energy sources and smaller scale projects, MEPs said on Thursday.

Members of the European Parliament's industry committee said the rules should apply to projects such as nuclear waste storage, oil and gas extraction, and onshore wind developments below a 10 megawatt threshold proposed by the European Commission.
