Member states should do more to support the reusable beverage packaging sector, industry representatives said at the third ReUse conference in Brussels on Wednesday. The first priority in the EU's waste hierarchy is waste prevention, they pointed out.
Jürgen Resch, head of green group DUH, one of the conference's organisers with trade associations CEGROBB and SIB, criticised makers of 'one-way' bottles and cans for seeking "market domination" using "misleading life cycle assessments".
