More controversy over Spanish nuclear waste site

Greenpeace has accused Spain's government of failing to draw up the necessary technical and safety specifications in its search for a planned temporary nuclear waste storage facility. The process for selecting a site resumed in December 2009.

In response to a request for technical and safety reports from Spain's central court, the Audiencia Nacional, the government said it had a "generic safety study" from the firm responsible for the design of the facility. But the study is confidential. Greenpeace says this document "cannot be considered a technical and safety report".
