Summit calls for action to boost eco-innovation

Participants in a major EU conference on innovation have called for common energy efficiency metrics to better compare different methods and standards for cutting carbon emissions.

The second annual European Innovation Summit was held in late October. An “innovation declaration” resulting from the meeting was published on Thursday.

The declaration stresses the need to stimulate intellectual capital in the areas of mobility, sustainable food security, healthy ageing, sustainable production, copyright, international cooperation and energy efficiency. The outcomes of the summit were also presented.
