Experts reporting to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) have recommended the authority work with other bodies to develop specific common criteria for identifying substances with endocrine-disrupting properties.
The report, published Thursday, recommends that EFSA create an expert panel of scientists from different member states to guide the agency’s work on the issue. It says EFSA should work with other bodies such as the European Commission’s environment directorate and the OECD to develop a common testing and classification methodology.
