Carbon pricing 'key to delivering global climate finance'

Revenues from carbon pricing should be a key source of funding to help developing countries fight climate change, a high-level UN panel has concluded. Governments agreed at last year’s Copenhagen summit that rich countries should make annual transfers of $100bn by 2020.

Climate financing is a critical issue in global negotiations. The UN panel was convened by secretary general Ban Ki-Moon in February and co-chaired by the Ethiopian and Norwegian prime ministers.
