Researchers and entrepreneurs met in Rotterdam this week to debate eco-innovation and the prospects for greener growth. The conference was organised by the Centre for Sustainable Design in the UK.
Christian Löwe from the German federal environment agency (UBA) said governments had to be pressed into creating a “culture of sustainability” by introducing policies that drive people to consume less. He argued for social innovation as a new mode of environmental policy making.
