Carbon market expects further CDM credit bans

More than half (56%) of carbon professionals believe that the EU will adopt further bans on CO2 credits from emission reduction projects in developing countries, according to the results of a market survey released on Tuesday.

The EU recently decided to ban two types of CO2 credits from May 2013. A number of survey respondents said that large hydropower projects are now potentially a target for Europe, a major buyer of international carbon offsets.
