The European Commission is taking Poland to the European court over three separate breaches of EU environmental legislation. The member state has also received legal threats over several other failures in areas including biocides and chemical labelling.
In total Poland was involved in seven of 17 infringement actions launched by the commission on Wednesday. In one case, it is being taken to court because Polish nature protection law is not properly aligned with the habitats directive.
