UN agrees to revise HFC-23 methodology

The UN's CDM board has agreed to revise the crediting methodology for HFC-23 emission reduction projects. The decision was taken after a methodology committee confirmed concerns over the projects' environmental integrity.

The board will continue to use existing methodology to make decisions on projects that have already been registered, ENDS understands. The revised method, expected to be finalised next June, will only apply to project renewals after the first crediting period.
