Still no EU agreement on CO2 targets for vans

MEPs and member state representatives were unable to reach an agreement on Monday over what carbon dioxide emission limit should be set for a 2020 deadline under new rules for vans and other light commercial vehicles.

Earlier this month, member states adopted a position setting a limit of 155 grams per kilometre, weaker than the 140g/km limit demanded by the parliament. On Monday, MEPs said they would not agree on anything higher than 145g/km while the Belgian presidency pointed out it was not authorised to negotiate lower than 150g/km.
