The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) counted a total 24,675 chemical registration dossiers on Tuesday night, the first deadline to be met by EU companies under the REACH regulation. The dossiers cover nearly 4,300 substances.
The registration deadline applies to substances produced or imported in large volumes as well as certain volumes of carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic (CMR) substances and chemicals that are toxic to the aquatic environment.
