France consults on strategic environmental sectors

Low-carbon vehicles, marine energy and biofuels are among six sectors that France's industrial policy should focus on because of their high economic potential, according to a study published by the French government on Friday.

France is well placed to create "world champions" in these sectors, the government said as it launched a consultation on eco-industries. The study also identifies five sectors that could generate significant growth, such as smart grids and "green" chemicals.
