The review of the UN's clean development mechanism (CDM) must be fully transparent, linked to the creation of a new international market-based mechanism, and ensure the credits generated by the scheme are entirely legitimate, say stakeholders.
The CDM review, launched at the UN climate change talks in Durban last year, will run until September. Around 60 responses have been received to an initial consultation on the issues it should cover. This consultation closed on 21 January.
