EC seeks to change rules on noise at airports

EU airports imposing noise-related operating restrictions such as curfews and bans would have to ensure these measures do not have a negative impact on businesses, according to a new legislative plan.

In a draft regulation, which was put forward on Thursday, the European Commission says it wants to strengthen EU implementation of the 'balanced approach' on noise management advocated by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
