Durban: finance 'must not dry up after 2012'

Funds to finance climate mitigation and adaptation efforts in developing countries should continue to flow after the end of the fast-start period in 2012, according to a text prepared by Durban delegates under one of the main negotiating tracks.

The AWG-LCA text, updated on Wednesday morning, says there should not be a gap between 2012 and the delivery of long-term financing commitments by industrialised countries, which amount to at least $100bn annually by 2020.
