A long-awaited action plan to stimulate green growth in the EU was published by the European Commission on Thursday. This will be achieved through a mixture of regulation, funding, demonstration projects, and product verification and standards.

It was promised as part of the 2010 Innovation Union strategy, intended to boost growth and jobs in Europe.
