EU ministers back plan to boost green energy

Energy ministers meeting on Monday endorsed a plan of action on renewables and reviewed progress towards an internal energy market

Energy ministers endorsed a European Commission policy paper that aims to better integrate renewables in energy markets until 2020 while paving the way for a longer term policy framework, following a meeting on Monday.

The ministers welcomed forthcoming guidance on support schemes, hoping it will lead to a more cost-efficient deployment of cleaner technologies.
