Shale gas a top priority for new Polish minister

According to a source, Marcin Korolec's dismissal as environment minister is due to the fact that he was not pushing the shale gas agenda fast enough

Poland’s new environment minister Maciej Grabowski, a close political ally of prime minister Donald Tusk, is going to make shale gas exploration and extraction one of its top priorities, he said on Wednesday following a cabinet reshuffle.

Mr Grabowski comes from the ministry of finance where he worked on a draft law to tax production of shale gas in Poland. “[The development of] our natural resources could provide a strong economic stimulus”, he said.
